About Red Soda Band
Red Soda Band is a wedding music company based in Sydney, started by a group of professional musicians, and it runs a dedicated service for couples marrying in the Blue Mountains. Its musicians hold music degrees, and plenty of them have shared stages with artists such as Stevie Wonder, Kylie Minogue and Michael Bublé. Weddings are the only events the team plays. For the ceremony you can choose a violin and cello duo, string trio or quartet, harp, acoustic singer, vocal duo or a strings-and-vocals combination. They play the processional, signing and recessional, plus around 15 minutes of music while guests arrive. At the reception an acoustic singer or duo can cover drinks and dinner, before a band of two to eight players or a DJ working with one or two live players takes over the dancing. A five-piece, for instance, pairs male and female vocals with guitar, bass and drums and adds keys, lead guitar, sax or electric violin. You can also add an MC or extra players. Their Blue Mountains page points to Logan Brae Orchards, a rustic year-round venue where a five-piece can play in the barn by the stone fireplace or outdoors under the night sky.
