About Locked in Escape Rooms
Locked in Escape Rooms is a locally owned puzzle venue on Carbine Way in Mornington, designed and built by a former secondary teacher with a background in theatre sets. Each room tells its own story, and your team has an hour to search the set, crack codes and open locked compartments before the clock runs out. A game master briefs the group, keeps watch throughout and hands out as many hints as you need, so first-timers are never left stranded. Every booking is private, so you never share a game with strangers. The line-up covers a wizard's study, a medical mystery called The Cure, a fairy-tale forest and The Mad Scientist, a room for children aged 7 to 12 with an adult guide inside. Most rooms take two to six players, and larger groups split up and play several rooms side by side. Teams who escape collect a room token and a lollipop, and the puzzles stay family friendly, with no actors or jump scares. It suits birthday groups, hens and bucks outings, staff days and family get-togethers, and a children's party can book The Mad Scientist so the kids play on their own. For workplaces, the owner runs team-building programs that combine a room with a facilitated workshop shaped around your goals. Games run Wednesday to Sunday by appointment only, with evening start times on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Send an enquiry to lock in a time.

Frequently asked questions
How much does an escape room at Locked in Escape Rooms cost?
A room booking is $135 and covers up to three players. Each extra player is $45, payable when you book or on arrival if numbers are still changing. Public holiday bookings carry a 15% surcharge.
How many people can play, and what about big groups?
Room capacities vary, with most rooms taking two to six players. Larger groups are split across several rooms playing at the same time, so everyone in the party gets a game.
Can children take part?
Rooms are recommended for ages 12 and up, and younger players need a paying adult in the room with them. They are not recommended under 7, and children under 3 are not admitted. For a children's birthday without adults playing, book The Mad Scientist, which has an adult guide inside.
Can we bring drinks or food?
Players are asked to arrive sober, and anyone affected by alcohol is refused entry without a refund. Food is not part of an escape room booking, so plan a meal or drinks in Mornington afterwards to celebrate.
How long does a game take and when should we arrive?
You have 60 minutes in the room after a short briefing from your game master. Arrive at least 15 minutes before your start time, as the timer begins at the booked time whether or not everyone is there.
