About Shakers on Wheels
Shakers on Wheels is a mobile cocktail bar and drinks catering business based in Melbourne, and its wedding calendar regularly takes it to the Mornington Peninsula. The team brings the bar, RSA-accredited mixologists and a menu written for your event to homes, marquees, wineries and function spaces, then packs it all away at the end. You can choose from four bar formats. The Open Bar is priced per guest for a set time with unlimited drinks from your menu, the Dry Bar uses alcohol you supply, the Bar Tab charges for what is poured with a service fee added, and the Cash Bar lets guests pay for their own drinks against an agreed minimum spend. Every package includes the bar, bartenders, a custom menu of usually four to six cocktails with an alcohol-free choice, glassware, tools, ice and garnishes. The bar itself can be a cart, a purpose-built bar or Marty, the restored caravan fitted with a double fridge and beer taps, and extras include a fountain of cocktails, champagne or cocktail towers, a brass tap bar that pours through dry ice and bottled cocktails as gifts. Set-up and pack-down happen outside your booked hours, and quotes list travel as a separate line. Two-hour cocktail making classes are also on offer for groups at a home or office. Frequently asked questions
Does Shakers on Wheels work on the Mornington Peninsula?
Yes. The Peninsula makes up a large part of their wedding season, including long lunches, winery receptions and coastal celebrations, and travel is shown as its own line on the quote.
Do we have to buy the alcohol?
Not unless you choose the Dry Bar. Drinks are supplied on the Open Bar and Bar Tab, and on a Cash Bar guests buy their own, while the team always brings the staff, glassware, ice and garnishes.
How many bartenders will we need?
That depends on guest numbers and how many cocktails are on the menu. As a rough guide, about 60 guests usually calls for two bartenders, and bigger events also get a bar supervisor.
Where can the caravan bar be parked?
Marty needs to be driven into place and set on solid, reasonably level ground, so lawns, driveways, courtyards and open areas at a venue all work well. Include a photo of the spot in your enquiry and the team will confirm.
Is there a cocktail class for groups?
Yes. The mobile class runs for two hours at your home or office for 15 to 50 adults at $75 per person, starting with a cocktail made for you and then three you mix yourselves.
